Here you´ll find a step-by-step guide on how to import the 3Shape .DME into your 3Shape Dental System control panel for use with Model Builder.

1. Open your control panel

2. Navigate down to the Import/Export section and navigate to the .DME that you've downloaded from the Harvest website. In case you have not downloaded the DME please click on the following link for Harvest Vertex Articulator, scroll down to resources to find the DME.

3. Click on the .DME, hit open, and import the .DME.

4. Once that's successful, it will show a dialog that says "Materials have been imported successfully.". Click OK and navigate back to control panel.

5. Under Digital Model options please click on  Articulator interfaces.

6. At the very bottom of that imported list you´ll have different options from Harvest for a purely subtractive, full arch quadrant with pins and without pins.

7. We recommend to create three test cubes, which you can download from the Harvest website (In case you have not downloaded the .DME please click on the following link for Harvest Vertex Articulator, scroll down to resources) and print them.

In the 3shape .DME there are 3 different settings/shapes to accommodate your preferred "fit" setting:

-40 microns - Passive fit

0 microns - Regular fit

+40 microns - Tight fit.

8. Test the fits of these cubes relative to your Harvest Vertex slots and see which one fits the best for you. The -40 works allows a little bit of a gap for some Versaglue to go in there to attach the Harvest Articulator to the print interface here.

9. Once you've determine which one works better for you,  go back into control panel, and delete the other 2 in order to keep your .DME / Control Panel clean.

11. Keep in mind the Harvest Vertex Substractive option is recommended for high material savings on quadrant models that are very parallel on the back of the interface.

12. When setting the Articulator interface make sure that this interface doesn't show any gray and you see all the beige across just so that vertex slot will fit all the way in.

13. Save your model and print.
